Resume

The majority of the work shown here on this website has all been generated since I moved to Europe from the US. The work relates to images that extend from large metropolitan European cites to small villages in the Czech Republic were I currently reside. 
Yet most are inspired from nearby walks though fields and forrested areas where I often go with my dogs. The art is created both inside my studio and outside in the plein air. As with most art when I see something that interests me I want to express it through some kind of medium.
For me that medium is typically oil paint. The image is seen with the eye, taken in and digested and then regurgitated onto paper or canvas. Once this step is completed I slowly analysis what I have and a further creative procedure begins. The objects get moved around and color as well as line are manipulated to compose harmony within the composition.

V posledním desetiletí pracují především s olejovými barvami, a během této doby jsem se rozhodl malovat českou krajinu. Procházky po okolí mě inspirovaly k vytvoření několika obrazů mezi Kolovraty a Uhříněvsí. Malby jsem rozvíjel jak v ateliéru, tak v plenéru. Také jsem si velmi oblíbil Jižní Moravu, kde jsem našel novou inspiraci v dramatické krajině plné zvlněných kopců tzv. Moravském Toskánsku.

Můj ateliér je v Kostelci nad Černými Lesy, kde v současné době pracuji na své tvorb
